It's almost a certainty that Littlefinger will slow walk (or retain it) the return of the AR-15 from the evidence locker citing:

State is not finished with Kyle yet and it needs to remain evidence

Holding on to it for "Lefty's" pending suit.

or finally release it as a box of damaged parts because "testing" you know.

I had a .357 stolen from my house, cops picked up the thief and the gun the next day, thief sentenced to 4 years, served 2&1/2 years. It took me almost 4 years to get my pistol back.

The state (Illinois) claimed they were holding it in case it was needed in case of an appeal.
