It’s The Curse of Bobby Layne.I drank with Bobby Layne after he got traded to the Steelers {but he'd drink with anyone that would pick up the tab}, and he was a fun guy.
Back in those days, pro football players didn't make insane money and most of them had off season jobs and they hung out with regular folks.
I played poker with Dick Hoak and in the 60s I made more than Hoak did as a pro running back {in the late 60s his base salary was less than $10K}.
Things change.

Tampa Bay was a terrible team. Young was able to be successful with a team with a great coaching staff.
I was making that exact point. There are 21 other men on the field, and a coach to run the team. Stafford will be a better Ram than he was a Lion, if the team can provide some protection.

Craig Morton routingly took the New York Football Giants to 3-11, he goes to Denver well past his prime and leads them to the Super Bowl.
Craig Morton also played for the Cowboys.

Craig Morton also played for the Cowboys.
I know, and he had a decent record with them. I just wanted to make the point that good QBs can have bad records with bad teams. I also despise the Cowboys and avoid discussing them in proper company.
