For Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, launching ill-advised throws on Monday Night Football seems to run in the family.

Stafford’s wife, Kelly, caused a stir by throwing a pretzel at a trash-talking 49ers fan at Levi’s Stadium during the Rams’ 31-10 loss to San Francisco on Monday, a defeat that featured two costly interceptions thrown by her husband.

After getting called out on social media by a fan who claimed to witness her fury-filled fling, Kelly Stafford apologized for putting an ugly twist on the Rams’ embarrassing night.

“Who do you think you are to do such a thing?” the witness asked Kelly on Instagram. “Show some class and support your husband and his new team with grace please.”

“I’m an idiot,” Kelly said. “He was saying a bunch of things that were aggressive towards our crew but zero excuse. I tried to apologize, but in the end, knew I was wrong.”

I drank with Bobby Layne after he got traded to the Steelers {but he'd drink with anyone that would pick up the tab}, and he was a fun guy.

Back in those days, pro football players didn't make insane money and most of them had off season jobs and they hung out with regular folks.

I played poker with Dick Hoak and in the 60s I made more than Hoak did as a pro running back {in the late 60s his base salary was less than $10K}.

Tampa Bay was a terrible team. Young was able to be successful with a team with a great coaching staff.

I was making that exact point. There are 21 other men on the field, and a coach to run the team. Stafford will be a better Ram than he was a Lion, if the team can provide some protection.

I know, and he had a decent record with them. I just wanted to make the point that good QBs can have bad records with bad teams. I also despise the Cowboys and avoid discussing them in proper company.
