Animal rights groups have responded with a protest letter against a policy of euthanasia, pointing out that most visitors do not feed the boars and arguing resources should be directed toward stopping the human activity rather than blaming all the boars. Ok it wasn’t just me then.
I don’t think they understand how quickly those boars reproduce. Even without Human interference, they can have a half-dozen babies a litter, about twice annually in ideal conditions, for around 7 years.
Over a lifetime, that’s 84 pigs from ONE sow. Imagine how many offspring ONE male can have!
The boars destroy crops and are aggressive with livestock and Humans, not to mention domestic pets. Other than catching males in the wild and giving them vasectomies, what’s the alternative, and who’s going to pay for it?

Yes I knew that, just making a lame attempt at humor. I have a friend in Texas that goes boar & wild hog hunting at night with his brothers using night vision. It’s a major problem there from what he tells me.
I understood your attempt. Hogs are a
challenge. Eastern/southern NM suffers
