How would they know when most of what they perceive through pop culture shows the exact opposite?
I cancelled cable about 30 years ago when my little girl watched madonna crawl across the floor to kiss the feet of black jesus after the bad white boys just beat him up.

Why on earth would you refer to her as 'white trash'?
The only white trash I've seen in the last 30 years was Hillary Clinton... and her husband ... and most of their trash friends like Epstein and other assorted 'elites'... A woman being beaten doesn't make her trash - it makes her 'husband/thug/father' a criminal.
