I think you have those reversed. Plus, you forgot Aftermath with all originals. "Flight 505", "Lady Jane", "Under My Thumb", "Think", "Paint it Black", "Stupid Girl", "High and Dry". And the longest track on any album of its time, "Goin Home". Just when you think the song is fading out as the volumn recedes, they bring it back up with an impromptu jam session and Jagger taking point and Jones/Richards doing their bluesy thing.
>> Their earlier blues covers were much better. <<
EXACTLY! Do you know what you call a band whose better songs are blues covers? A mediocre pub band.
For $500 Alex, What is the Rolling Stones?
Yeah aftermath was great. I have those songs on greatest hits albums. “….Her Satanic Majesty….etc” was a bit disappointing except for a few songs or unless you were high. Exile on Main St. Was good but could have been trimmed to a single Lp. After that a few singles were great but the albums didn’t interest me.
Beggars Banquet was ‘The Album’ and in December of ‘68 it was played continuously by myself and my friends…. We wore out a copy on New Years Eve 68/69.
I attended Rolling Stones concerts in 1969, 1989 and 1999…..on the nines as it were
Who’s Next and Quadrophenia are better than any Rolling Stones work for sure.
Is Naked Eye one of the things you are referring to? Fantastic.
“Slit Skirts” was my favorite Pete solo track....nice video, too.

Yep, “Water”, “Naked Eye”, “I Don’t Even Know Myself”, and the songs from “Odds and Sods”.
Also, The Seeker, The Relay, Join Together, Long Live Rock, all were not on their albums, many were from the abandoned “Lifehouse” project.
I love the whole Chinese Eyes album. “Stardom in Acton” is may favorite.
He’s still reliving Rolling Stones Rock n’ Roll Circus in 1968 when the Who gave a monumental performance while the Stones did, indeed, look like a pub band — and a drunk one at that.
One of my all-time favorite clips.
A Quick One (While He’s Away)

That’s exactly what I was thinking of.
“Chinese Eyes” album is HUGELY underrated.
“The Sea Refuses No River” is another gem.
I saw them at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Coliseum...the tour just before the fatal concert a few years later. When introduced, Keith Moon tumbled across the stage to his drum set.
Totally agree. After Quadrophenia mostly junk. “Slip Kid” to me also was their last great song. Go with you on “Isle of Wight” but rank original “Live at Leeds” and their “Woodstock” show up their with it.
