That is my takeaway line from your post.
I came of age in the 1970s, when "question authority" was the mantra from the Left. Conservatives were seen as "stick in the mud" fuddy-duddies who were nothing but tools of the establishment.
In less than half a century, we have a complete 180.
Today it is the Left who are now compliant tools of the establishment and it is the conservatives who are now the rebels, the ones who dare to speak up and refuse to submit to the jackboot of big government.
What a long, strange trip it has been.
It is so comical that people who used to question authority - like musicians and artists - are now DEMANDING that we obey authority.
Yep....the VERY ones who’ve long screamed, My body, MY choice...and, hey, farmer, farmer stop spraying that DDT....and, I only eat NON-GMO and organic foods.....are now the ones insulting anyone who dare question, or refuse, these GMO gene therapy shots.
