We had a bad wreck happen in front of the farm this week. Head on. Kid in a PU passed a neighbor stopped to make a left turn while waiting for the oncoming vehicle to pass. Kid in the PU never even slowed down and flew around the turning vehicle then head on into the Honda Pilot with a young mother and her two toddlers in child seats in the back.

Children bruised, mother trapped with broken hip or pelvis, took an hour to cut her out, kid in the PU had not so much as a scratch on him.

I was chagrined he did not leave in the backseat of the patrol car. I don’t even know if he was ticketed. Did not know the full story until yesterday or I would have been compelled to say something.

What is the normal cop procedure in an event like this where the offending driver is concerned?

I hope the pettifogging lawyers are all over this like white on rice.

Second question, anybody know what to do about chronic speeding? The cops don’t seem to make any impression. We live between two hills a mile and a half apart. They top either hill, see the coast is clear and race as fast as they can on the section of highway. There is a cross roads between the hills. That is where the wreck happened.

He probably had political pull. He was probably the son or relative of a big shot politician or Police Officer.

Contact your county highway department with photos of the crash(es) at the intersection. Ask to have warning signs posted for approaching intersection, possibly lower speed limits and a speed camera as drivers approach it, and rumble strips or speed bumps.
