RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) - Video submitted to the FOX 17 newsroom shows a handful of students fighting one another Wednesday morning at LaVergne Middle School. Some are warning the behavior is prompted by what students are calling “fight week.”
The viewer who submitted the video asked to remain anonymous, citing fears of suspension for the student who filmed the brawl.
“Everyone was screaming and yelling,” an eighth grader told FOX 17 News. “There’s been a lot of fights in the bathroom.”
The frightened student’s grandmother also shared her reaction to the disruption: “The video speaks for itself. She feels scared. She feels nervous.”

Nervous because of rumors circulating around social media regarding LaVergne Middle School "fight week" where students are reportedly encouraging each other to fight their peers.
“All the students made up this whole fight week so everyone’s going to start fighting with the people they want to fight.”
