Nature usually makes some kind of sense. But not in lifespans! What's a fish doing with 200 years of being alive???

Verrrry interrrresting. The term “Rock Fish” must be a generic catch-all around the planet. The Striped Bass in the Chesapeake Bay of MD and VA. and environs are commonly known as Rockfish. But they are Game Fish. Sought after for the thrill of a possible trophy nearly as much as for a meal.

That the longest lived fish have genes that improve DNA repair and control inflammation isn’t particularly surprising. The same has been found in human centenarians, pretty much regardless of lifestyle or environment that would kill the rest of us mere mortals.
