Other than for the scenes that try to show Poles in a poor light, the German series “Generation War” (Unsere Mutter, Unsere Vater) was good, too.

How are the Poles portrayed? I tend to avoid European depictions of war just because I find the style either overly theatrical or overly navel-gazing.

I think I’d prefer a German program that put the Poles in a negative light just because it would be reflective of how Germans at the time of WW2 would view them.
