There are no vaccines that are 100% effective in preventing contraction or transmission of disease. Does that mean there are no effective vaccines?

There are no vaccines that are 100% free of adverse reactions. Does that mean there are no safe vaccines?

There are many safe vaccines.

However, there are no Covid vaccines that have a proven record of safety, because they have been rushed to market.

The final verdict on these vaccines will be many years away.

I will not go near any of them until we have many years of testing done.

This is a silly argument. Safety and effectiveness are not either/or propositions, but you yourself are the one who declared blanketly that the vaccines were “safe & effective” with no qualification. So you’re just undermining yourself by arguing that we should be judging them qualitatively.

In order to actually judge their safety, we require the data on their long term safety, which DOES NOT EXIST, since those trials have NOT BEEN COMPLETED. Therefore no matter what standard is proper to judge their safety, they cannot be judged to meet it, since the data needed to make that judgement DOES NOT EXIST.

As to their effectiveness, no vaccines are 100% effective, but neither are condoms. Yet if one brand of condoms had this many “breakthrough cases”, nobody would purchase them as a contraceptive. The idea that a “vaccine” which does not produce lasting immunity, does not produce sterilizing immunity, and does not prevent transmission is somehow “effective” is simply ludicrous. If they were so effective, why would we need the state to force everyone to take them? We’ve never had to do that before for any other “effective” vaccine.
