after reading though these posts, it would appear that we have alot of people who have lost hope.
Morale has hit an all time low.

I was born in India, which has m ore freedom than USA, if you can believe it. I have visited 40+ countries in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. I was married to a Swede for 23 years and visited Sweden many times. India had a female head of state long before USA which still never had a woman president. So please do not brag about freedoms in USA. You probably have visited no country in Asia or even Europe.
Main reason I immigrated to USA in 1960’s was because USA had much more opportunities for engineers than in India. If I was graduating from college in recent years, USA would not be my first choice with liberals like Biden and Kamala running the country. India has PM Mr Modi who is far more pro-business than Biden/Kamala will ever be.
If Kamala becomes next president, I will lose all my faith in God.

Sadly you are right about that. Even very prosperous immigrants I know, earning 3 or 4 times average family income keep voting democrat because the republican party does not go out of their way to make them feel welcome. The democrat party does. Your anti-immigrant rant is small part of it.
Main problem with American immigration system is, it is NOT strictly merit or wealth based. 90% of immigrants qualify based on sponsorship by another immigrant. That NY city bomber brothers sponsored 23 relatives for permanent resident visa, with absolutely no requirement for skills/education/wealth.
IDK if I am gift from anybody since my only God is work. Work is worship in my personal religion. I just burned 81 candles, USA has been my home for 61 years. Too late to go home. All my friends and relatives in India are either dead or moved somewhere else.
I am quite proud what I was able to do during quarter century of working for a manufacturing outfit. What I invented there made it possible to compete with Japanese & European manufacturers of the same type of machines. People from Germany traveled to my place of work to see how we were doing it, because the news had reached them.
No one has right to immigrate to the USA. There is NO BENEFIT to the average worker for system that allows anyone in the USA to work. NONE WHAT SO EVER.
