Look up narcissism.
When you are jerking off to some young girl, who most likely was trafficked, drugged and force into it, so you can get off, that's narcissism. You have no empathy for her. You use her, her body and then be done with it. You don't give a damn is she kills herself or gets killed. You are a narcissist if you only think about your self and your wants and not about others.... If you are married and watching porn, you are an abuser of both the wife and the women you come off too.
OK—I understand your argument.
I really thought you were going to go in a different direction.
Imho it is both true and false at the same time.
Why? Because taken to extremes it is true, but if it is done only occasionally it is overkill.
It is sort of like the Vegans argument about eating meat, blaming meat eaters for the slaughter of animals.
It is true that if everyone stopped eating meat, the slaughter of animals would stop.
But—if _you_ stop eating meat there is very little effect.
It is not my intent to compare the porn “stars” with meat, but rather to help you see the “slippery slope” nature of your argument.
Any man getting off on porn is defrauding his wife sexually, something couples are commanded in Scripture not to do.
God lays out guidelines for marriages in several places in Scripture, as well as for general how to treat each other guidelines.
Anyone who follows those will have successful relationships.
The problem is, too many people, men AND women, couldn’t be bothered making the effort to live according to God’s plan, but make their lives and their marriages all about them, about what they can get out of it.
Listening to the whining and blame shifting by so many men on this forum, it’s small wonder their marriages failed. Their response to Sen Hawley demonstrates that he is indeed correct and it’s blindingly obvious some men just don’t want to hear it.
