While I’m not a fan of porn in any regard, certainly “porn” is not the leading cause of divorce. It might not even be statistically relevant cause of divorce. Women file for divorce at a much higher rate then men, watch porn less, and commit adultery at equal or higher rate. I think there are many logical and faith lead reasons to not watch porn, but to suggest that it is a root cause rather than a symptom I think is missing the point.
Men who watch porn are addicts. When they consume it, it usually leads to other things. Porn is the root of most evils in a marriage now a days. Men watch porn then escalate in their habit, looking at younger girls, then wanting to act out their sick fantasies. They commit adultery, they steal from the family finances, they abandon their wives emotionally and physically. When men are confronted by their wives about behavior, they will usually gaslight them, lie outright or get physically violent. They are also robbing their wives of intimacy, love and respect. Men become more and more selfish, destroying the family to pursue their lusts. Women often can’t take it any more and leave.
If you don’t think porn is the problem, then you must not read. There’s a billion dollar industry aimed at getting you off porn. Go over to Amazon and look up porn addiction, betrayal trauma, spend some time reading then you’ll see.
Porn destroys lives. It destroys marriages. It destroys families. For the men who watch it and the young girls/boys and women who are sold into it.
