wow, the crew rooms and accommodations are on par with a prison.
I might be ok with the 2nd officers room for a few weeks, but probably not
wow- unreal- what a setup- wonder how much fuel they burn in one day? Those engine rooms and generator rooms, and turbocharger rooms- wow- massive!
A lot different than when I crewed on a WW II, Victory ship brought out of mothballs to haul ammo to Viet Nam for the war in 1968. Loaded with 8,000 tons of ammo at Sunny Point, NC then on to the Canal, cross the Pacific to the ammo port at Cat Lai near Saigon.
Container ships were new back then and all our cargo was below decks in holds.
Thanks for posting — I used to be a shipper, and I always wanted to go aboard one of the vessels that was carrying my cargo. Never did, but I’d much rather that experience than a cruise ship.
Clearly this one isn’t, but I understand that some of these container ships have quite luxurious accommodations for passengers. ($$)
I watched the whole video, what impressed me the most was at the end, the speed and precision with which the cranes unloaded and reloaded the cargo containers.
Thanks for the link.
