Singapore’s Adult Vaccination rate is over 90%, now. Its now 85% for all people. I have been watching Singapore’s Covid response since the beginning of the Pandemic, because my company has two shops that do the same thing, mine in the US and one in Singapore.
Singapore thought it could “Fauci this Bitch” - Raise the Drawbridges, Mask up, Contact trace and Lock anyone who even looked sick in a room for 14 days and Vaccinate EVERYONE!!!! and only lose 50 people out of 6,000,000 - really.
Almost 1,000,000 people (low cost labor) traveled across those drawbridges daily, when those drawbridges went up, manufacturing was KILLED and many of thos 1,000,000 were laid off.
When cases dropped in the US this summer, we were back to 100%, but our Singapore divisions only had 1/2 the employees and were offloading work out of Singapore. They had to open soon or manufacturing would leave the island forever, but just as they were loosening restrictions” Delta pops off and the “Fully Vaccinated” were also spreading the Virus.
Singapore was contact tracing & Naming and shaming “Clusters” of infection, until the “DHL Cluster”. I can imagine the complaints from little Chinese ladies thinking their packages were infected with Covid and the DHL wsa the last corporation that was publicly named as being contact traced. After that, traced infections went from 95% traced to less than 5% traced and BOOM! exponential spread.
Singapore currently has less than 5% Natural Immunity, and are relying solely on Vaccination immunity, so they could be in the Booster spiral for years. The Majority of People in Hospital in Singapore are “Fully Vaccinated”. The Majority of people in Singapore Dying of Covid are “Fully Vaccinated”, but this is because the vast Majority of people in Singapore are fully Vaccinated. The Ministry of Health published data on deaths vs based on the populations of Vaccinated/Unvaccinated and their data shows a 7 to 1 more likelihood to die if Unvaccinated.
Singapore is known for putting a government spin on everything, so the death ratio is likely less than 1V to 7U’s, but that is the data they post.
