The new generation of leadership in Conservativism is doing a better job then Conservatives have in the past at addressing this.

My generation failed badly at it. We expected everyone to think like us. We expect everyone to reason like us.

You defeat an idea with a better idea, at least I heard that once, but that doesn’t seem to work any more. It seems that lower taxes, protecting the unborn, defending the country from an invasion of illegals would be a better idea than their opposite.
