Women have been told since the 70’s that they can do it on their own, although I think that was just meant for a job not parenting not sure. It’s hard enough for two parents much less one.
Strange that one generation has not learned from the other on how hard it is? I guess if growing up without a father is normal then that is what they expect and that is how they continue.

Amen to that! I learned everything I need to know about family structure by watching the birds as a child. It doesn't matter whether the mother bird goes out to find food while the father bird sits on the eggs/young or vice versa. But it does absolutely take two parents. And human babies need to be taught things like literacy and morality while birds do not.
My wife is retired, while I have been back working for 4 months. Great job, I have flexibility when needed to help. Grandson is 11, active in football and baseball, granddaughter is 17 months old.There’s always something going on.
