Sweet potatoes with marshmallows?! EUW.

Agree. They're gross. Looks like a seagull pooped in the dish. I always pass on that.

Last year, a family member made Paula Deen's sweet potatoes, and they had some sort of brown sugar crunchy topping. It was a huge upgrade.

I'm a Southerner, and my family always had cornbread dressing when I was growing up... there are still good-hearted squabbles about which matriarch made the best.

My wife makes her mother's rice dressing (her Mom RIP was Japanese), and I like it, too.

Any list which doesn’t have Persimmon Pudding at the top is suspect in my book.

I’m from East Texas, right on the border with Louisiana. We always had cornbread stuffing, sometime collard greens, and sweet potato pie.

I still love the cornbread stuffing, but the rest has gone to the wayside. I just love the look of the turkey on the table, all five children and 2 son in laws sitting around our ‘huge’ table, and listening to the conversations.

A big family is the best treat at Thanksgiving and cannot be beat for these festivities.

You can’t put enough sweet glop on sweet potatoes to make them edible. I’m sorry… that’s how I feel. I yam what I yam
