This was the final ignominy to a grand and historic old ship that saw service to our nation from 1928 through 1968! Homeless vandals boarded her about two years ago and stripped anything of value, and graffitied her up. Local news highlighted her plight with a story entitled “Pirates of the Columbia.” She is a total loss now, and will undoubtedly be towed away and sold as scrap. So sorry to see.
