First, is it that your boss IS booting you and asked you to submit notice, OR is it that IF you leave your job, she’d LIKE two weeks notice?
Second, find a new job to go to before jumping from your current job. It is always more attractive to a future employer if you are actually currently employed, AND your gap to the next job may be much longer than you think.
Third, keep the letter simple and professional. If they have an exit interview, keep it factual and professional. Don’t burn bridges if at all possible.
Decline the exit interview, as they will mine it for material to discredit you. Give them nothing. You owe them nothing.
I would reject her request and use whatever time you have left finding another job. In 2017 I did just that. Horrible, horrible job, but I was good at it and so in an eight hour day, I could work a couple of hours and spend the rest schooling myself up for the career I’m in now.
I did this when I was 51, so it was a complete reinvention.
Get paid to look for your next job. She wants your resignation so she doesn’t have to pay for unemployment. Simple as that.
Your letter about the management may just get filed away. No one wants to rock the boat at times. I have seen as we all have in politics that they will circle the wagons even when knowing the person or people involved deserve to get booted out. Write it out then think about it. Harry Truman use to do this : )
Make sure no one knows your next job!
My manager and supervisor drove many people out of the job. I have a list of 29 people in little more then 5 years. I think they made bonus money for doing so to keep the salary lower. They left in May and July of this year themselves. Good riddance!
I have had 2 co-workers quit in a week. Last friday was one’s last day and the next gave 1 week notice on Monday. He had moved to Eugene, OR last year when his wife got a job up there from Calif. He was working nights at the Help Desk.
I will be leaving soon too as my stock keeps going up. My goal was AMD at $120. Today it is at $126.99 It was as high as $128.24
Waiting on the 3rd approval needed for a merger going on. The US and EU have agreed and the communist chinese are expected by the end of the year. The stock will go up even more. After last earnings a week ago the stock analysts raised their estimate to $130 to $180
End of last July the stock went up $33 in 3 days so I am hoping for a repeat.
