Despite the fact that I take two 30 mg. tablets of Lansoprazole twice a day, from time to time, I still experience acid reflex after I’ve gone to bed. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen very often, but if it does, I’ve found that eating a banana will eliminate it entirely. If I eat something that I think might come back and haunt me later, I’ll eat a banana before I go to bed. It neutralizes the acid in my stomach, and I can go to bed without having to worry about being woken up an hour later. I had my gall bladder out in 2015, so whatever bile there is, goes directly into the intestines. Many people who have had their gall bladder removed, end up with diarrhea, but I’m one of the lucky ones. I can eat anything I want, and not get diarrhea.
That’s great! I don’t have a gall bladder anymore, either. They took it out back in May during my transplant surgery. I have a new liver, but they leave out the gall bladder. I don’t have much trouble with diarrhea, but I like your tip about bananas. Hope you don’t mind if I adopt it…😀
