All that time, I thought Tiramisu was Japanese in origin.I thought that too in the beginning. The word doesn't look Italian, but it's colloquial for "pick me up."
When I learned it was Italian, I also heard it started out as a favorite treat of prostitutes, so I assumed it had a long history and didn't know that it only went back 60 years.

It was a sort of cooking demonstration show where you could sample items
I ran into (literally) a local female news anchor. Didn’t realize who I bumped into until she turned around. It was a pretty minor bump into 😅.

FRequently found on fine dining menus globally and cruise ships too.. high on the must try list,, German Black Forest cake and key lime pie are too ..

Last week I went to an Italian restaurant in New York with a colleague. He’s related to the owner. We were treated like kings and it was the most memorable meal of my life.
Of course we ended with tiramisu
