School Board Directors
Township Supervisors
Tax Collectors
Local Judges
All politics is local and in MY town, we're changing from a 5 member Township Supervisory board to a three member board.
Three of the existing members were just elected a year and a half ago and were elected for 4 or 6 years.
State regulations in such board changes is that everyone is out of a job after the referendum was agreed to by a ballot vote and three members are suing everyone they feel cheated them.
The township voted to switch to a three member board because the three whining are the ones that have to be re-elected and no one likes them for their spending policies aned are expected to lose.
There's court decisions and appeals and it's a mess .... but in 48 hours, we're going to save our township.
Awesome.
What state/city/town are you speaking of ?
What state/city/town are you speaking of ?
*************
Why his of course where ever that is.
Let’s hope we elect more important people than im-po-tent people. Don’t need any more weak-kneed R’s.
These people are neighbors, folks you go to church with, etc.
I really wanted to see if others were also involved with LOCAL government.
How important is the school board THESE days, eh ?
Virginia has a very important election. I helped where I could and will be a poll watcher but we shall see if we have a big enough movement to win.
They are the ones who lobby unceasingly to raise property taxes to fund expansion of various school programs and their associated administrative staff. They also tend to protect incompetent teachers and principals.
I voted for new school board members who have never been public school employees and still have children held hostage in the public school system.
I have a sentimental fondness for the idea of "free elections". Might not help, but it cannot hurt.
Would you prefer “D”s that do real damage to weak-kneed “R”s? I know that neither is desirable.
I understand the logic, but everytime we have one of those GOPe candidates, everyone says thats the last time I’ll vote for the lesser of two evils.
Yet the same people will almost always cave and vote for whatever the establishment forces on us. I will vote for no more McCain’s or Romney’s.
Youngkin is saying the right things. That would be a huge win.
