As a Chicago area resident who up until recently had been a Blackhawks fan since 1977, I agree with you.
I'll also say this: the cover-up that happened here for years has cost the Blackhawks a fairly significant portion of their fan base.
Had this been dealt with immediately as it should've been, no fault could be found with the Blackhawks organization, Coach Q, etc.. But they completely failed to act. Coach Q was "too busy" winning a Stanley Cup to deal with it and failed to act when he became aware. Same thing with Wirtz.
That's just unacceptable, period.
The other story about all this making the rounds here in the Chicago area sports news is that the team itself (Kane, Toews, etc..) knew what had happened, and gave Beach sh*t about it. If true, what an awful statement that itself makes.
You can’t undo history. Pete Rose played a great game and no one could ever take that away from him. Babe Ruth wasn’t perfect but you can’t undo his achievements.
