I wonder what the mom will think when the son doesn’t call her in her old age because it is not convenient?
Or when her son decides to put her in a cheap nursing home as opposed to taking care of her at home?
It would really cut, if the son told her that those were the responsibility of the oldest child she callously aborted.
I have read stories with that moral.

I'd just tell her that I had decided that I didn't want to be the child of a person needing care and draining valuable resources, that it would be inconvenient, and so that I got a doctor's help to "stop being the child of a person needing care."
