Baldwin held and pointed the gun when it fired and killed a woman. There may be some blame to assign elsewhere but ultimate responsibility is on him to check the weapon. It was a single action revolver from the old west era, which means it had to be loaded chamber by chamber from the back of the weapon, and cocked before it would fire.
