They suddenly misidentified something they’ve seen every night they’ve flown for years. Alrighty then.

The pulsating could just be the camera (cell phone?) just trying to auto refocus as well. Lots of possible explanations, over Mexico could be a shadow pilot running drugs, etc. The pilot’s juvenile behavior doesn’t help lend credibility to the witness, either. Pass.
