I know nothing of civil engineering but I am puzzled by the possibility that Fe-chloride is used for wastewater treatment. Or is that stuff for treating potable water sources?

It is baffling how major metro areas like Lost Angeles has millions of poopers but there is almost no evidence of poop treatment facilities. Flying into/out of LAX and Burbank I look for those large squat open cylinders aerating wastewater but I never see them.

I imagine a 20 mile stretch of a 10 foot diameter underwater pipe sending all that treated poop water into the Pacific - but wouldnt that area be populated by tons of bacteria? Modern marvels of engineering!
