“I’m reasonably sure he understands the loss of life”

Really? I wonder what his opinion is of vaccines. I wonder what his opinion is of abortion.

Frankly, I don’t care. There are probably a lot of people that share his opinion on those two situations. I can’t teach a blind thoughtless person to weigh the scales of justice because he’s had a lifetime to generate his opinions and whether he feels strong enough about them to project them to others. I can’t stop him from being stupid or even evil unless the law assists me. It is just as illegal to shoot him with a gun as it was if he had purposely accomplished the goal on the set. But then we’d both be obviously wrong.

He’ll get his time in court, if it makes it there, and will probably be paying some pain and suffering pittance to a number of people. But I’m not the judge and haven’t been selected for the jury there. And that may or may not be a problem for him, also, as who is selected. But with past decisions like this, I doubt there will bhe any criminal charges levied and you’ll never know how much he or his companies paid.

There is a previous court decision for this on the set of The Crow when Brandon Lee was killed by gunfire. Linda Lee Cadwell, Brandon’s mother, sued California-based Crowvision Inc. and its parent, Edward R. Pressman Film Corp., the producers; J.B. Jones Inc., which supplied the blanks and ammunition for the movie; director Alex Proyas and others. Carolco studios, where it was filmed, was not a defendant in the lawsuit.

Lee’s fiancee, Eliza Hutton, also was included in the settlement, according to a statement from Crowvision Inc. No criminal charges were filed in Lee’s death. Only the amount really is in question. And that will be probably suggested by the jury and passed by the judge unless it doesn’t make it that far and the amount will be a settlement between the parties.
