I wonder if the corpse is missing a sock.

A sock was missing, and they found a fabric softener sheet.

If the remains had the backpack over them/intertwined, then it’s obvious.

If he is truly dead, the parents are responsible. By helping him go on the run, they doomed him to this fate. In addition to heartbreak, they will carry this guilt the rest of their lives.

That’s what I’m thinking. This guy is the epitome of a classic narcissist and they don’t commit suicide. In his mind, he was justified and she forced him to kill her. They lived with his parents for two years who saw it and heard it all and I’m betting they blamed her, as well.

If the DNA tests show it’s not him, the FBI will report it’s a match, just so they can put the case to bed.

Trust nothing his parents say.

All of a sudden they want to check a trail and stumble upon him???? Sure thing

What if he kept Bertolino updated via a burner phone and the calls suddenly stop? Bertolino would know where BL was and tell the parents.

Gator bait...

Maybe... They didnt find him until after the water receded. Body found mutilated in a swamp after the water drained out not far from his backpack. I guess he was sleeping out in the open and his fire went low. Gator got him by the leg, rolled him a few times shoved his broken body under a tree root.

Gator prolly ate off him for a while till the water came up and he drowned finally.

Only the coroner knows!

Yes, at this point nothing would surprise me.
The parents announce they are going to this place to search and within hours (minutes?) the cops find a body - an amazing coincidence.
BL was the last person to be seen with the girl alive, he used her credit cards and took her van and her personal possessions. But of course just more amazing coincidences - to the keystone cops it’s not as if he was even a suspect!!!

My bet is on them having contact with him this whole time through burner phones, and suddenly didn't hear from him. So, they decided best thing to do was join the search, and search the area they knew he was in.

“The ‘probability is strong’ that the human remains found in a Florida park on Wednesday belong to Brian Laundrie,

Puff Piece -

Suggesting that Laundrie is/was ‘human’.

Yup. They would worry if he didn’t check in.

If Brian didn’t off himself by firearm, venomous snakebite is another possibility. The rising water level in the swamp will drive snakes to higher ground. Common venomous FL snakes in the area include various rattlers, cottonmouth, and copperhead.

It was the first day the park was reopened. They did communicate with LEO. But I'm sure they could have went in with LEO prior to the reopening.
