I read a si-fi story back about 55 years ago in which a scientist discovers a chemical that killed yellow animals.
When he showed his find to the world he suggested the Chinese scientists stay back just in case.

After everyone left, the Chinese obtained variations of the chemical and ordered “One thousand white mice. no, better make that ten thousand white mice.”
