Exactly what happened to me!! Except I was unable to kill them..
I am keeping mine in a large fish tank as pets now. They really are easy to keep. I feed them the same dogfood my dogs eat and as their teeth come in, they are doing well with the same sizes of kibble.
They are growing, however, and we are making plans to have a larger tank constructed for them in our living room.
I have not named them yet.
Are they able to communicate with you telepathically? That would be so cool!
