Not a big fan of Thompsons.
I use Used Motor Oil for all my wood sealing & preservative.
If the color is a little light, simply add a few drops of wood stain.
It does take a week or so longer to dry than commercial brands, but it will out last them by several years. I did my front porch with well used Shell Rotella in 2017 and it looks new.
The same year I did some decorative 4x4 posts in the front yard. These were untreated lumber. The oil dried out more than the porch, but I simply “repaint” them every couple of years.
