Overall, Homeowners will be inconvenienced by having to replace their worn out lawn equipment with battery, but the battery equipment has made great strides in recent years.
It is the commercial lawn care companies that will suffer most.
Also, this legislation gave CARB the authority to define what a SORE is. Today it is 25hp and under. Tomorrow it could be 30hp, 40hp, or any spark-ignition engine not licensed for road use.
I think they will require all generators to be electric-powered.
It means there will be a new smuggling cartel, for lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc.
So no gas generators or exempt for now?
In the early 80s my dad bought an electric lawnmower with a cord. Do you know how hard it is to mow a big lawn with an electric mower with and 18 inch cut width and an 30 foot extension cord?
I finally broke it on purpose so my dad would buy a decent gas mower.
The sad thing is that would actually make sense to them.
We had a cord mower in the 80s too, I kept running over the cord and got yelled at a lot.
Certain specific types of light bulbs
Butane Canisters
Ammo
Emergency back-up generators will be all electric.......................
Hillarious!
Home Depot and Lowes in Reno and Yuma will be quite busy.
I guess that's what passes for "representative" government these days. Every state will now have its own Deep State.
I own 20 acres (not in California). My small engine tools are essential to maintaining my property. I suppose if I lived in California, I would need to let my land go fallow, move to San Francisco and rent a 500 sq ft. apartment for $5000 a month. A perfect solution.
“In fact, CARB says that running a leaf blower for an hour is equivalent to driving a 2017 Toyota Camry for 1,100 miles.”
I have trouble believing that a leaf blower running for an hour using maybe a pint of fuel, pollutes more than a Camry over 1100 miles which, at 35 miles per gallon, would burn 31 gallons of fuel.
Years ago my brother bought two reel-type lawnmowers, the 2nd one as a replacement for when the first one aged out. Years later he told me he started using the 2nd one.
Someday we might be buying a 2nd for-the-future car. Also, one could also easily believe that the replacement-car-parts industry will be in for boom times.
Electric motors are crap compared to internal combustion engines.
No more Mexican bagpipes? Say it ain’t so? Who will serenade and wake me up on Saturday mornings?
GMTA!......................
No gas generators allowed. Just use electric powered generators. Problem solved.
Is it true they banned wood stoves as well?
