Kyrie Irving’s Teammates Abandon Him in NBA Vax Fight
Breitbart ^ | 13 Oct 2021 | WARNER TODD HUSTON

On Tuesday, the Brooklyn Nets decided to ban star Kyrie Irving from the team until he gets vaccinated. Unfortunately, he has also been abandoned by his teammates, who have remained silent during his fight for his liberty.

Irving has insisted that his vaccination decisions are not for the NBA, his team, or the City of New York to mandate and has stood for his liberty as an American citizen to make his own medical decisions.

According to the Athletic, Irving has told teammates he is not anti-vax. Still, he is against the idea that he should be forced to undergo any medical procedure because authorities have told him to do so. To Irving, this is a matter of individual liberties and human rights.

Sadly, as the leftist media establishment has gone all in to attack Irving and other unvaccinated players,

Regardless, none of his teammates — especially influential players Kevin Durant or James Harden — have come out in support of Irving’s drive for his human rights. In fact, without saying so directly, both Durant and Harden have said they’d like to see Irving “be on the team,” which would by necessity mean he’d have to get vaxed. And while these two Nets stars have not been openly critical of Irving, neither have they been supportive. At the very least, they have shied from any direct statement either way. And that offers Irving no support at all.

If Harden or Durant were to support Iriving, maybe even say, “We Won’t play without Kyrie,” the Nets would have no choice but to back down.

Reminder that Magic Johnson continued to play with full-blown AIDS

Players of any other generation would have definitely done that.

At least Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) said it was up to Andrew Wiggins to decide whether to be vaccinated or not. I’m sure Curry talked with him behind the scenes, but publicly, he supported whatever Wiggins decided. There isn’t much of that in pro sports these days.

I think Isaiah Thomas caught a bunch of crap for speaking out about not being comfortable with that.

Which is more dangerous: a player who has HIV, or a player who doesn’t have covid?

The NBA has made their decision.

I’m not sure it’s correct to say he “continued to play.” He was out of the league for four seasons, and only came back for 32 games (out of 82] in 1995~6.

He did play on the 1992 Dream Team in Barcelona, but that was not an NBA production.

NBA? Who’s watching? They certainly are not role models for the youth in the family.

Well, the story isn’t being quite fair to the Nets. Under New York law, Irving can’t play in Brooklyn if he isn’t vaccinated. So the question for the team was whether they’d play with him only in away games. The team decided that flipping back and forth between having him and not having him on a nightly basis wouldn’t work, so they said if he can’t play in home games, they won’t play him in away games. But he IS getting paid for any away games he misses.

He was HIV positive, he’s never had full blown AIDS.

Rather than Irving have to capitulate, his teammates should have the gonads to stand by him and back him up.
