You’re an officer! If I may ask a question? Have you noticed a change in attitude toward you from the public? Since this “defund” crap?

There are some changes I've noticed, yes.

But thankfully, I am long removed from working the street. I am on the intelligence side now. I haven't worn a uniform in almost 10 years.

However, I will say that police officers are themselves less likely to take action in a proactive manner. Cops are less likely to get out of their cars and initiate contact with someone or a group of people.

When officers do initiate action or respond to a radio run and either attempt to arrest someone or even raise their voice to give a lawful order, bystanders will immediately take out their phones and start recording.

That's the thing people don't realize. Police "brutality" isn't up. It's actually down. It's just that we are seeing more of it due to police bodycams and CCTV and cellphones. Every time a police officer takes any sort of action in a major city, it's on camera. So you have millions of interactions between cops and the public, and if only four of those interactions go bad, you'll see every one of them and it'll look like an epidemic.
