Our roof shingles were damaged by hail this spring. We called the guy who built the place and he appeared two weeks later with an all-Mexican crew.
13 guys tore off the shingles and underlayment and put on new in one 13 hour day.
The job is perfect.
No Americans hereabout to do this work.
Where are they ?
Not starting businesses because they know they will be undercut.

We’ve had American crews work at our place (except for one crew which had a Cuban and a Honduran) but that’s getting more difficult. In our area there are a huge number of people on social security disability/welfare for being drug addicts. It seems to pay really well.
One of those guys started a small business after he got out of jail and did a good job. He went back to jail shortly after for dealing drugs.
I overheard a couple of landscape guys chatting and one said to the other that he didn’t want people applying who were on a first name basis at drug rehab, they don’t show up to work.

I always pass by Home Depot and they are always at the entrance looking for work.
I always pass by L.A. Skid Row and they are mostly BLACK, dont do anything except smoke weed in their tents, blast their stereos and GO OUT ONLY TO “HUSTLE”.
