Five years ago, a crew replaced the roof of the nursing home where my mother was living. They were all "Mexicans." Two years ago, I had my roof done; they were all "Mexicans" except the estimator, who was white. About the same time, my neighbor had his roof done; the crew were all "Mexicans."

Some of the crew who did my roof did not speak English. Were they illegals? Probably some, at least. Did they do a good job? So far, it seems like it. But if I wanted to find a roofing company that didn't have any illegals working for it, I'm not sure I could.

That’s how it works, the company owner is a citizen, the estimators are citizens, the team leaders, English/Spanish speaking usually a citizen, the sort stocky guys up on the roof.. illegals.

***If there were a bounty on illegal colonizers those fat, lazy American Citizens you guys like to deride so much would be well paid and well motivated probably making $200k/year. And then we’d see ordinary citizens going back to doing roofing again.
