Right now there are four Mexican gents fixing my carport roof. I am amazed by the work ethic shown by these four men, they don’t chit chat, they don’t stand idle and smoke, they just work. My roof is going to get done today, weeks ahead of schedule by four men who barely speak any English. The jobs were there and they saw an opportunity and I hope they get paid well for their labors.
For the record I’m 60 with health issues and had to hire this job out, I’m not lazy, just grateful there are still hard working men in this country.
Around here I would hire a skilled illegal in a heartbeat since I can’t find a soul who wants to work and can do the work. I’d even brush up on my high school Spanish that was good enough to keep me fed and out of trouble when I worked in South America.
No, it is not about pay that I can’t get help before some on this site start squalling about that. I have always paid more than prevailing wage in line with my practice of never giving anyone the excuse of not being paid well enough to do a better than average job.
As for their tax status, giverment benefits and such subsidizing their income, I could not give a rat’s patoot. I may as well get something for my tax money and their paying taxes just feeds the waste, fraud and abuse. Every person around here on the dole that has the energy has a side job of some kind for cash and they often don’t work very hard.
I would like to see a decent worker visa program that is well regulated in concert with keeping citizens who can and want to work employed. That is only a dream though as it is only talked about for as long as I can remember. No politician wants it so we won’t have it.
Latinos can be very good help but you have to know what you are getting and what it costs and how to manage them if they are available. I just wish they were legal.
That kind of logic can justify all kinds of larceny.
Many of the lazy asses are here on Free Republic, claiming they don’t make enough money to work and that they make more sitting on their lazy asses at home doing nothing. They refuse to work. Who’s worse in this case? The Mexicans that are working their asses off fixing a roof, or the lazy asses sitting at home sucking on the government t and consuming our hard-earned tax dollars from the rest of us who are working?
That has nothing to do with anything. A nation without borders IS NOT A NATION.
In Colorado, the commercial roofers are Russian mod. I am having cigars with them later this evening.

There is no downside for these people. The liberals want them here and Americans keep voting in these liberals.

In the interim, since most of these people are coming here for a better life, put them to work. Hard work turns liberals into conservatives. Most of these illegals are social conservatives, hard working family men, Christian, and willing to have children rather than abort them or turn them into gender fluid ignoramuses.
In the interim, preach the gospel to them. Treat them as the Bible commands us to treat the sojourners.
Maybe we can trade them for some lazy millennials.

You have no way of knowing ANYthing that aint posted. And he posted that they were MEXICANs who can barely speak english. We DO have a way of knowing the probabilities of them being here on H2B status: 84,000 out of about 3 million this year, which is less than 1/30 chance of them bein’ legal and all that.
Once we get to the point that it’s a 1/30 chance that they’re ILLegal then we can reopen the borders to those indentured servants...

I live in New Mexico and most contractor/subcontractor in the building industry are hispanic here. Sure maybe an illegal or false paper used at times but most are long time residents of the state, some with families in the area pre-dating state hood and even 1776.
Don't want a hispanic fixing your roof or installing your landscaping or doing surgery on you then you will need to look far and wide for an area without them. Like white people, they're legal and everywhere.
Uh… wrong. I do most of my own work or hire friends to help out. However, not everyone has that luxury. But hey… if I do need roofing work done, obviously there’s a wealth of people here in this thread alone who will happily jump to the opportunity!
So maybe $40.00 is the correct price? What the hell is wrong with all of you cheap labor whores?
