Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in a market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver knows he's doing alright
Hear him whip the women just around midnight
I remember, we were flying along,
And hit something in the air...
Laying here, looking at the ceiling,
Someone lays a sheet across my chest.
Something warm is flowing down my fingers
Pain is flowing all through my back.
I try to move my arm and there's no feeling
And when I look, I see there's nothing there.
The face beside me stopped bleeding
The girl I knew has such a distant stare.
I remember, we were flying along,
And hit something in the air.
Then I look straight at the attendant,
His face is pale as it can be.
He bends and whispers something softly,
He says there's no chance for me.
I remember, we were flying along,
And hit something in the air.
Life is flowing out my body,
Pain is flowing out with my blood.
The sheets are red and moist where I'm lying.
God in Heaven, teach me how to die.
I remember, we were flying along,
And hit something in the air.
What is the damned point of ALL of this cancel crap? (besides finding another way to stoke a racial or sexual grievance...maybe that is ALL it is)
I feel it is deeper than just that.
That it saddens someone, makes someone feel bad about something, or discusses a subject that some people feel shouldn't be discussed?
This song is sure to make someone upset or depressed because it portrays a fatal car crash, perhaps to the point of causing real psychic pain (I never actively listened to this after the first time I heard it, because it is depressing...but I don't want the thing banned. It did stick in my mind after all these years, though.)
To me, folks, this is the epitome of what portrays Leftism in a nutshell. They cannot face reality.
If they don't like a song for whatever reason, as is the case here, they have to not only plug their ears, close their eyes, and shout at the top of their lungs "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!" which would be annoying but their own business, they have to throw the song down the memory hole so NOBODY, NOWHERE, EVER hears, sees, or even knows that song ever existed because it makes them feel bad for whatever reason.
These people pushing this narrative are delusional, deranged, and dangerous if we let them be.
