Keep in mind, while the Raiders aren't the least valuable team in the NFL they have the poorest ownership group. I think Mark Davis is worth $500k, outside his stake in the Raiders.

$500k won’t buy you a garage in the Bay Area. That’s why Davis moved to Vegas.

Outside of the Green Bay Packer community ownership group and a few old NFL families like the Maras and the Rooneys, the typical NFL owner is a rich guy who made a fortune in some other field and parlayed that fortune into NFL ownership.

Al Davis was an outlier. He was a coach who, through hook or crook, gradually acquired a controlling interest in the Raiders. How Davis pulled that off is quite convoluted tale, and it’s covered pretty well in Glenn Dickey’s book, “Just Win, Baby.” The Davis family’s wealth is all tied up in the team. So, yeah, Mark Davis is very likely the NFL’s poorest owner.

Anyone else think this whole thing is absurd?

He wrote these emails 10 years ago, when he wasn’t even employed by the Raiders. They were private emails. He insulted some people. So what? Why is this such a crime against humanity, that someone must lose their job?

How in the sam hill, did political correctness become such a strong force in our society?

I don’t care if every member of the NFL contracts Ebola and travels to the underworld. Once they were complicit in the kneeling to the National Anthem and disrespecting our Flag I lost all respect, caring, and interest in them. Also, let the black folk finance and support the NFL since they are mostly black and let the whites support elsewhere.

Pretty sure there are plenty of banks which will allow Mark to borrow against his equity in the Raiders to pay Gruden what he's due.

WALL NFL teams are extremely profitable -- the split the revenue from massive TV contracts and all merchandise sold.

The Raiders just got sweetheart deal to move to Vegas and are selling out every game. So, their attendance is better than the many teams not selling out every game.

Gruden is entitled to every penny on this contract. The emails were written when he was an employee of ESPN and are NOT grounds to terminate his contract.

To the extent Gruden agrees to less than what he is owed, it will only be because doing so would allow him more job opportunities.

Additionally, Gruden should sue whoever released his private emails. He'd have a successful lawsuit similar to the one Hulk Hogan won a few years ago.

Gruden’s critics should have all of their emails exposed.

I no longer follow the National Felon League, but Gruden was 100% on target on Goodell.

The Green Bay Packers and the NFL need to remove Reggie Whites image, name and likeness from the Packers Ring of Honor, Packers HOF, the NFL Hall of Fame and be expunged from all NFL history.

Sadly, Mr White was a known homophobe and outspoken critic of Homosexual behavior a trait that goes against the current NFL CULTURE.

Further, I believe that the NFL Should conduct a top down examination of everyone involved in the NFL organization. All emails, texts, any form of electronic transmission and even private conversations should be examined and anyone with the slight hint of misconduct should be released immediately. Anything less is a serious crime against society. ;)
