Must be team rules since there is no federal requirement currently. Maybe never will be. But, who has the bank to take them to task over this? No one I can think of can outspend the gov.

Irving’s decision should be his own, even though he is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

Magic Johnson was allowed to play with HIV, but Kyrie Irving can’t play even though he doesn’t have Covid.

I bet his contract has a “I play or I become a free agent” clause.

Irving is a Flat-Earther and generally a moron, but even morons have the right to make their own healthcare decisions. If he doesn’t want to get vaccinated, that’s his right and his decision to make. As for the Nets - screw them, they knew what they were getting when they signed him and the only reason they did sign him was because they knew he would bring Kevin Durant with him.

And we have a special visiting guest star helping our team out tonight, Mr. Kyrie Irving.

Can you give him a warm welcome, please.

I can’t imagine his contract requires medical procedures be performed against the wishes of the player. Hoping the team will still have to remit full salary during the suspension.

I wonder if they will have to pay him ?? He’s on a max contract, if they don’t pay him will the NBA Union defend him ??

This when you find out who your real friends are

I don’t like Kyrie but it seems absurd that he is not allowed to work but at the same time thousands of people on the border are allowed to come in illegally without vaccinations or tests or ANYTHING

“It is imperative that we continue to build chemistry as a team and remain true to our long-established values of togetherness and sacrifice. Our championship goals for the season have not changed, and to achieve these goals each member of our organization must pull in the same direction.”

What a bunch of woke gobbledygook. So this includes forcing someone to put into their body something they do not want? Glad I stopped watching the NBA over 20 years ago. They have gone even farther insane.

So private corporations can use coercive means to force medical experiments in violation of the Nuremburg Code. No wonder the government is using them more and more as their authoritarian cat’s paws.

I love how the NBA said it would not force players to get vaxxed, but the unvaxxed players would be denied pay if they test positive, be segregated from teammates, etc, etc.

Then that all gets thrown out the window when a marquee player, playing in a COVID Nazi Blue city decides not to give in.

Ironic to think how Irving was an NBA darling a few years ago, with his excellent comic performance in Uncle Drew. Now he’s a Q Tard, I guess.
