Happy Sunday Evening...

How’s it going?
Hi, Vision! You having a good weekend? I guess you’re off work tomorrow for Columbus Day.
Hi Gina, I’m working tomorrow. The weekend has been good but in the last two weeks cutworms came out of nowhere and destroyed the the grass in the backyard, which was discovered Friday. Frustrating. What are you up to?
My treat for the week is to hear Gunsmoke and Dragnet from 8 to 9.
What terrific actors, voices and writing.
Why do you say that?
Oh, bummer! I’m sorry about your grass!
We’re just listening to football on the radio and watching a little of it out on the TV in the garage, doing laundry and grilling ribs.
A TV?
I thought everybody had a TV in their garage...
I do.
Why don’t you?
It’s production is famous, you can probably find stories on it. They did things like map out the town and when characters walked around town they would use the number of sound effect steps that corresponded to their map. And you can get lost just listening to it. Crickets in the background, a wolf howling, the incredible, nuanced acting.
I didn’t know Gina had looked at a TV since she was a child.
Evening.
You doing good?
Eh, we think another one of the cats is dying. The senior cat, the mother of the one we lost last month. I found her on the living room floor yesterday, yowling. She’s just been in a deep funk since her daughter died, and she’s been sickly for a while, anyway. Maybe there’ll be a miracle. Connie’s making her as comforable as possible. One thing I did notice was, there were some things along the wall under the window that were on the floor, and she has a deformed leg that she injured a couple years back, which she still favors. She may have been trying to jump in the window, lost her footing, and landed on it wrong. As for me, I’m walking like Fred Sanford, only slower. I way overdid it last Sunday, and everything below my knees is pulled or strained - muscles, tendons, you name it. I may have a stress fracture or two. It’ll take me weeks to bounce back from this one. I really do need a walker at the moment.
Damn.
The cotton pickin’ fair got you too excited.
Maybe I didn’t mention (can’t remember) that a few years back, one of Keith’s co-worker buddies gave us a television that one of the casinos was getting rid of, upgrading their hotel rooms. It’s just one that has an antenna, so it only gets a few channels. We keep it in the garage, and it only gets turned on for golf and some football, so not much.
I think it did. It was so huge and I’ve been at home so much for the last year, I felt like I had to see it all. Now I’m paying the price. And none of my neuropathy meds are putting much of a dent in it.
