87 runners faced extreme weather, including 12-18 inches of snow and almost white-out conditions
Trail runners participating in an ultramarathon Saturday morning were rescued from the mountains in Davis County, Utah, after a snowstorm hit the area.
At about 9:30 a.m., the Davis County Sheriff's Office was notified about an "emergency situation" involving 87 runners. They faced extreme weather, including 12-18 inches of snow and almost white-out conditions, according to a news release.
The race was suspended, and the sheriff's office's search and rescue team responded on foot, with ATVs and snowmobiles to help the runners get down the mountain safely.
The sheriff's office said a few runners were treated for hypothermia at the scene and released, with one also sustaining a minor injury from a fall.
Officials later thanked those who stayed with the injured runner, who also had hypothermia, until search and rescue arrived.

More global warming.

Wonder what the tab was for Utah taxpayers?
It’ll be an early snow year in the Wasatch. Whenever it snows mid-October that’s what happens.
Marathoners tend to be leftish Californians who dont understand cold country weather and end up in trouble because they have preconceived notions like “it’s gonna stay warm cuz climate change”
Sudden onset of wintery weather with no warning? Happens all the time right? Or is it “rare”.
The Climate Nazis have this covered, too.
How did they not check the weather report?
Makes me wonder how many of these super motivated types they had to wrestle into the vehicles?
The only job a person can keep is the weatherman.
He/she can be wrong 99% of the time, and not get fired.
Wow, they took wheeled machines out in that instead of tracked machines? Very surprising. My wife and I took our first ride in a Quad last week in the Montana Rockies. That was a blast! There was no snow, just very dusty roads and gorgeous fall scenery.
This was an “Ultra” marathon. If it was “Ultra,” shouldn’t they have kept going?

Exactly. They should all be billed for the emergency services. Rescue people endangered their own lives rescuing these dumbasses.
We had a big snow dump here in North Idaho last year on October 24. LOTS of trees broke in half and lost large limbs because the heavy snow landed on leaves.
This Alaska blast is kind of bypassing us today and tomorrow — just windy, chilly and showers, but no snow yet. The local weather guys say that dry hot summers often lead to cold and wet falls.
In Alaska, the first snowfall of the season is referred to as “Termination Dust”.
We have a hard freeze warning with chance of snow over here in Reno tonight into tomorrow. Had some snow in the Sierra’s over the last couple days. Enough to see on the ski runs on Mt Rose from town.
My feeling its going to be a cold winter.
I suspect none of the runners were overheated

Unless of course he refuses his Fauci Jab.
Does Utah have a weatherman?
