So everything will have to run on electricity, but there will be no electricity. This will be very interesting.

“$30 million to help professional landscapers and gardeners”

More freebies for illegals.

Eventually CA will have to stop folks from going to AZ or NV or OR to buy the “sale prohibited” items.

They will have to go full Gestapo—searching every truck as it crossed the border from those states.

There will also be a black market in the ghettos selling these goods.

Gas lawnmower dealers will be treated like drug dealers.

Same goes with snow blowers. Too much power/torque required to operate.

A customer I had actually bought a battery snow blower - it was hysterical to watch him try to get it through just 3 inches of heavy wet snow. He would get it stuck or clogged in short order and then have to use a shovel to get it out.

I wonder what happened to CA’s commitment to renewable natural gas?

No, of course not. Like with the plastic bag ban and imposition of only one type of gas can (home version of jerry can) — this is driven by politicos out here in CaCaLand having some relative in the “new” industry ready to make $$$millions — and then contribute a cut in political donations. I’m not exaggerating. That is how things are done out here. If you don’t have 100% of your new initiatives like this in your state, you will when Beijing Biden touts California a “leading the way” and mandates a Fed rule.

wait chainsaw? how do we trim our trees so they don’t start fires.

I have come to appreciate my battery-powered chainsaw. It’s light, it starts up right away, and its battery runs out of energy right about the same time that I run out of energy. Can’t cut down big trees, but I abandoned that hobby a couple of years ago.

Hmmmm ... so an electric generator must now be battery or plug-in powered?
= = =

It could have a little windmill, or solar cell on it.

“It’s amazing how people react when they learn how much this equipment pollutes, and how much smog forming and climate changing emissions that small off-road engine equipment creates,

= = =

I’d put up Newsom’s forest fire smoke up against that ‘smog’ any day.

The ban will never happen when they outlawed 2 cycle motorcycle and lawn equipment only the motorcycles lost because the lobbyists gang piled on the hacks the lawn rangers won.

Back in the 90s, it was LA city, I think, that tried to outlaw leaf blowers. There was a big demonstration downtown by all the gardeners, all running their leaf blowers. The city caved. Now, not sure they would pity all those small businesses.

I think that is one of the reasons things are in such a deplorable state.

People who make these laws do not have to experience the restrictions and ramifications of those laws.

I have always believed that there is a sacred covenant in the United States where we as citizens agree to be governed, if two conditions are met:

First, that elections are free and fair, and we are allowed to select who governs us.

Second, that those we elect to govern us must live and abide by the same laws that we as governed citizens do.

In both of these cases, the politicians who have been installed in office have violated both of these conditions.

The ones who have gotten into office fraudulently (which I now feel approaches a majority) have obviously broken that covenant, and those who may have entered office without the benefit of illegality have broken the covenant by ignoring the obvious issue.

And as we have seen with the Democrat spying scandals, non-prosecution of obvious crimes, and political persecution of opponents, there are two sets of laws, one set in writing that is enforced at the pleasure of the Leftists, and one set everyone else is expected to follow.

And both Democrats and Republicans are complicit in this.

Do they realize they’re putting the majority of the newly arrived illegal immigrant landscapers out of business?

Nowhere in the actual law is CO2 or climate change mentioned that’s gaslighting by people with an agenda. The actual law specifically calls out quantifies and proposes means to cut real emissions namely NOx,PM2.5, and ROGs all of which small off road engines are massive polluters the law again lays that out with factual details. One hour of use of a SORE engine is the equivalent to 1100 miles of a ICE powered car with modern three way catalysts. That means in a 12 hour period a single SORE will produce more pollution that the average yearly pollution for a individual who drives their car. The NHTSA keeps track of average miles driven via state registration laws and numbers currently the USA avg yearly miles per light duty vehicle is 12,000.

As pointed out by some larger SOREs can be modified with full closed loop fuel injection and three way catalysts this will make them effectively zero emissions as a modern PZERO car also meets that standard. Most SOREs still use carburetors with zero emissions catalysts while running rich to prevent knock this is why they make hundreds of times the emissions of a much larger full computerized engine. For small hand held engines that are currently two strokes there is no current technology that will bring them into anywhere near the emissions levels of 4 stroke ECU controlled engines they are going to the dust bin of history. Small 4 cycle engines do exist as do small fuel injectors and magneto powered ECUs there was a big effort in South East Asia to convert 2 cycle powered tricycle and tuk tuks to fuel injection 4 cycles fueled with LPG gas it had a dramatically positive effect on the choking levels of pollution in the Asian megacities. The re-engine program was a resounding success it also.saved 30% in fuel costs eventually paying for itself over the life of the new engines.

Read the California law it says you can reach zero emissions by technical means. It didn’t say you have to use electrics if one chooses to use computer closed loop operations and full three way catalysts plus PM filter that also would be zero.emissions the laws again says zero about CO2 the regulated emissions are listed right in the law and CO2 is not one of them.
