East 6th is called dirty 6th for a reason. It’s been full of ferals since the early 2000s and gotten way worse as more and more of the trendy bars moved far to the West down at the far end of West 6th aka where the white folks go. There is a newly gentrified area being built in the former ghetto on East 6th east of 35 it has million dollar condos going up at breakneck speed and a trendy bar / restaurant area with $$$ prices to keep the riff raff out.
For absolutely insanely good lamb barbacoa tacos. So good food network has been twice to that location.
