I just turned 70 and I’ve never had a single “energy drink” in my entire life. I drink about one carbonated beverage every year, mainly to calm a rare upset stomach.

Am I missing a great experience?

If you have a morning where your body is slow and brain is foggy, a Red Bull certainly can help.

It's a jump-starter, both similar-to and different-from coffee.

I use them sparingly, no more than one every few months, but when I need one, they can really help bring brain and body into focus.

"Am I missing a great experience?"

Not really, but they do work. I was returning from work related trip. I had gotten about two hours sleep the night before (I am prone to poor sleep.). I was feeling really drowsy, even though I was drinking coffee after coffee. I decided to try a Red Bull (for the first time) and if that did not work quickly, I would get a hotel room. Within minutes, I was awake and made the trip home safely.

For me, they don't taste that great, so I only drink them on the road when sleepy.
