I read over a year ago that spanish flu was really a bioweapon from Ft XX (can’ remember) in the US. People were told to take Bayer’s aspirin, which really exacerbated the illness. It really started in 1917, and I recall one of Trumps speeches he called it the 1917 flu.
Would have to dig on this, but I would not be surprised.

I believe Camp Funston in Fort Reilly was the location. I’ve read it may have been a result of vaccine testing, but not bio-warfare.
Just finished watching this video before viewing your post. It’s from 2014. a genetic evolutionary view of the 1918 pandemic. The speaker postulates it began in 1915. At the time of the video he was preparing to confirm that with recently acquired tissue samples on slides sealed in wax.
